HANDICRAFTS DAY IN GERMANY

– TAG DES HANDWERKS 2023-

On 16 September, Handicrafts Day was celebrated in Germany. At the initiative of the ZDH, Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks, trade associations, chambers of handicrafts and handicraft enterprises were involved in an extensive programme of activities and events.

The promotional campaign had already been launched earlier with an online map of Germany where an overview of events and company presentations could be accessed.Uniteis had been involved with the presentation of the European Project GELATOn the ROAD, which over the next 3 years aims to create a ‘European Gelato Road’.

Handicrafts in Germany have large numbers: one million companies, more than 5 million craftsmen and 130 trades! It is these roles and these professionals, who develop solutions and implement them, who thus guarantee Germany’s future and prosperity.

HANDICRAFTS DAY:

The ‘Tag des Handwerks‘ initiative aims to draw the attention of the media and the public to precisely these figures, their results and the heterogeneity of their performance. This year’s campaign theme was ‘The Contribution of Handicrafts to Culture’ and in this context the ‘European Ice Cream Road’ project, of which Uniteis is a driving partner, fits in perfectly.

The celebration of Crafts Day has existed since 2011 and always takes place on the third Saturday in September. An overview of the many activities throughout Germany can be found on a map at www.handwerk.de

Germany without crafts? Inconceivably. 1 million companies and around 5.7 million employees in over 130 professions shape and shape our country. They fill it with life and create the future, in rural areas and in cities. From culture to the energy transition – there is more than enough to do: the crafts build, equip, maintain, beautify, clean, warm and cool, repair and mobilize. Crafts motivate, inspire and create what advances us as a society – out of deep connection and with a lot of innovative strength, creativity and passion.This was the motto for Crafts Day on September 16, 2023: We do what defines our country.
