GELATOn the ROAD-Design napkin competition

The Urban Diversity Education Campus PH Wien collaborated with the European Training and Research Institute (ETRI) to bring forth the GELATOn the ROAD-Design Napkin Competition. This event, spanning from March 1 to June 14, 2024, celebrates creativity and design innovation through gelato napkin designs!
The GELATOn the ROAD-Design Napkin Competition, operating under the exuberant motto “Everything’s Great in the Gelateria!”, invited students from higher schools specializing in fashion, art, and design across Austria to showcase their artistic talents. The competition, organized by the Urban Diversity Education Campus of the University of Teacher Education Vienna (PH Wien), in conjunction with the study program Fashion and Design, received an overwhelming response with 151 unique submissions.
An internationally diverse jury meticulously evaluated each design to ensure a fair and unbiased selection process. The anonymous voting method adopted by the jury was crucial in maintaining objectivity and recognizing outstanding creativity without any preconceived biases. This competition not only highlighted the artistic flair of young designers but also provided them with a significant platform to further their artistic careers.
The top seven gelato napkin designs, chosen for their originality and artistic merit, were published as part of the Urban Diversity Education Campus PH Wien goes GELATOn the ROAD in cooperation with ETRI. Among these exceptional entries, the top three designs were awarded cash prizes of €300, €200, and €100, respectively.
