A Taste of History: Artisanal Gelato

January 27

The story of artisanal gelato on Rai 1 (Italian national television), on January 27th.

Linea Bianca filmed a segment of the episode featuring Mig and Longarone Fiere Dolomiti.

The Belluno mountains take center stage on Linea Bianca, showcasing one of its historical artisanal products: gelato. The well-known Rai show, hosted by Massimiliano Ossini, Giulia Capocchi, and Lino Zani, recently filmed an episode that will be broadcast during the current season, the tenth, which started on December 23rd. The crew also visited Longarone Fiere Dolomiti to cover the Mig – International Gelato Exhibition, an event that has been a typical gathering for “sweet cold” and those who skillfully and passionately produce it for over 60 years.

On Friday, the show’s crew was welcomed by the first snowfall of 2024 and found master gelato makers at work in the mountains, demonstrating how gelato is produced “the traditional way.” Host Lino Zani gathered the rich history of gelato and Mig, which has become an international event over the years. The episode will showcase moments from the latest edition, describing the excellence of a product – artisanal Italian gelato – that originated in the Zoldo and Cadore valleys and has been able to “conquer” the world.

“Gelato is the story and narrative of an entire territory because it embodies a tradition and a craftsmanship that master gelato makers have exported from the Belluno region. We are pleased that a show like Linea Bianca wanted to tell the story of this product and, at the same time, our province,” explains Michele Dal Farra, the president of Longarone Fiere Dolomiti. “The Fair, among its objectives, aims to be a platform in service of the territory, to narrate and promote local excellences and entrepreneurial endeavors.”

The Belluno episode of Linea Bianca will be broadcast on Saturday, January 27th, at 2 PM.
