GELATOn THE ROAD at MIG 2025 (Longarone): Sustainable Scoops Final & Pop-Up Museum

From 30 November to 2 December 2025, GELATOn THE ROAD took part in the Mostra Internazionale del Gelato Artigianale (MIG) in Longarone, Italy, one of the world’s most historic fairs dedicated to artisanal gelato and a key meeting point between tradition, innovation, and the future of the sector.

During this special stop of the project journey, partners, gelato makers, and visitors came together to celebrate the culture, heritage, and sustainability of European gelato through a rich programme of presentations, networking moments, and live experiences.

Key highlights of the event

The event opened with an official introduction by Longarone Fiere Dolomiti, leader partner of the project, followed by greetings from the EACEA Project Officer of the European Commission, who acknowledged the progress achieved and the impact generated by GELATOn THE ROAD so far.

A special moment was dedicated to the presentation of the EUIPO Quality Mark awarded to the ERoG, marking a significant milestone for the project and its commitment to quality and recognition at European level.

The European winners

One of the central highlights of the event was the Final of the Sustainable Scoops Competition, which brought together the 12 winners of the Local Flavor Contests held in each partner country.

During the final phase, the three European winners were officially announced, celebrating creativity, locality, and sustainability in artisanal gelato making:

Catalanet Ganxet di Reus

Antonio Pla Ferrandiz-Gelats I Torrons Xixona (Spain)

S’torta

Kavarna Cappuccino Kroštola (Slovenia)

Crèm Enoix Ducale

Glacier Bargello  (Luxembourg)

The programme also included the General Assembly of the project partners, providing an opportunity to review the achievements reached so far and to outline the next steps of the project.

Finally, the event hosted the official presentation of the Luca Caviezel & Carlo Pozzi Digital Archive on Gelato, donated to Longarone Fiere and now available on the project website, representing an important cultural contribution to the preservation and promotion of the heritage of artisanal gelato.
